This wagon has two main functions: Checking the clearance of your line and checking track levels.
Checking Line Clearance
Instead of sending your pride and joy loco round the line to may sure no foliage has encroached onto the line, you can save scratches on the paintwork by sending this wagon round first.
Of course the loading gauge is different on every real railway and is therefore different on every model railway. That’s why the width and height clearance indicators on this wagon are adjustable. Simply set the height gauge bar (bolts with wing nuts) so that it’s just a little more than your tallest loco and/or coach and do the same for the width indicators (remembering to allow for overhang on curves – especially from the middle of long bogie coaches).
Push it round and if it has unhindered passage, you can then sit back confident that Mother Nature hasn’t tried to spoil your fun.
Checking Track Levels
In the centre of the wagon is a very large circular spirit level. It easily indicates every incline and undulation in any direction. Simples!
In all a very useful wagon that may not be the most aesthetically pleasing – but is extremely useful!
It's re-gaugeable [is that a real word?], so it can run on 32mm or 45mm railways.
Available as a simple kit to make at £34.00 or as a finished model ready to run at £49.00.
The kit isn't too hard to make (it needs a fine application of wood glue).
